I am looking at this same motor. I'd love to know how it worked out.

Very nice engine. Looks like you'll be having a lot of fun with that motor. lol! Ben from D&J Machine told me I would not need a spacer. I didn't bolt up anything to the motor yet and I'm in the process of repainting the crank pulley. I'll let you know when I'm ready to bolt everything up. Like I said, they told me I don't need any spacers. Good luck with your build

My tuff dawg engine runs great. The only major problem I had was that the shipping company tipped the crate over. I informed Ben from tuff dawg about this and told him the one breather was damaged.I sent him pics of how the crate arrived (It was trashed) and he sent me a new breather. Luckily that was the only thing that was damaged. There were some scratches on the oil pan and behind the block also. He was going to send me spray paint but I really didn't think it was necessary so I told him not to send paint. He told me he sent the pics to the shipping company's management but I cant confirm that. Ben was great to work with and really helped me out when I broke in the engine. I've heard both good and bad about them but my experience with them was good.....besides the shipping company tipping the crate.

That sucks for those people. I would've never thought they would do that. I had a great experience with them. Lost all respect for them now.

I am one of those who's money they ran off with. Fortunately, I paid the half cost of the engine with a credit card and the money was refunded by B of A. It still cost me some money since I had to buy a used engine for my local guy to rebuild, and threw away parts from my old worn-out engine (alternator, crank and water pump pulleys, bolts, etc.) that I have had to buy for my new engine.

I may have gotten the last crate motor out of them. Makes good power, runs cool, and good oil pressure. I need to get more miles on it to give it a passing grade....only about 50 thus far, but enough to tell I need an LSD.:) We'll see come spring.

Which engine did you opt for? I opted for the 328hp 302. Mine runs great with good power. I need to buy a more powerful electric fan. Mine is okay but gets a little hot in traffic.

I went for the 331, flat tappet......supposedly 402hp. Again, supposedly the bottom end is all forged......I kinda wonder about TD & their jacking folks around. There is too much cam in it but I was able to get the idle down to about 950 rpms....the bottom end is lacking. It's either change the rear gears or change cam (tho it sounds cool). I'm thinkin' 4.10 from 3.40.
It fired right up and I used Brad Penn 30 wt non-detergent break in oil with no additives.....I'm old school & BP has been good to me over the years.

I went with a Champion radiator set up. The temps come up to 180 kinda slow but then it just sits there no matter what......thus far.
