Looking for a replacement air filter element for my 65 mustang with the 289 low profile chrome hipo air cleaner. The element i have is about 13.75 diameter by 2" high. Cant find one. Napa guy didnt have any luck, and the closest i found at autozone was an STP SA136, but it was about a 1/2 too tall for the carb stud to poke through the hole. Anyone have this issue and know of where i can get one? Like which parts store or maybe a brand/part number??

Well, if you want the correct inside, outside, and height filter, with round holes and orange rubber, you need this one. Mind, it only fits the correct OEM or exact repro C5ZZ-W air cleaner. The cheap aftermarket ones, not so much.

If you want th generic one, which usually fit the cheap air cleaners, this-

Basically, you're looking for a Motorcraft FA41or equivalent. This was actually a multi-fit item, so the ID is wrong, but it'll fit, and you can't tell unless you remove the lid.

13.5" K&N is what fit my reproduction HiPo 289 filter assembly. I'm using a 2.5" but here's the 2" version:

K&N does have 13.75" filters but they are 4.031" or 5.5" tall. I found there was a slight gap around the base with the 13.5" but the fitment ended up looking just like this original GT350:

The repro assemblies fit the 13.75" filter snuggly but I think this is incorrect. I think there was originally a gap, which is why original K-codes can fit a 14" filter but the repros being sold today cannot.
