Okay, went to put my new NPD inner and outer tie rods on, along with the adjusting sleeve. When I got them together, even after threading all the way in the adjusting sleeve, the length was roughly 14.5 inches. I measured my existing assembly which is still on the car and it was 12.5". Below is the picture of my new assembly.

The part numbers are
Outer tie rod part 3a130-4
Inner tie.rod..part 3a131-2
Tie.rod.adjusting sleeve 3310-1

Going to V8, keeping manual steering and also have a V8 center link

Does anyone who has done the 6 to 8 conversion have after pictures of the tie rods, center link, upper/lower control arms, sway bar (1"), idler arm and the bushing assembly that connects the sway bar to the LCA?

Anyone????

Got those. Chocko put a new V8 pitman arm on my steering box when I sent it to him for a rebuild.

Have you put the tie rods, center link, bushing kit on LCA that the sway bar connects to all on yet?

#13 ·
Any way you could post some pictures?

Those helped, but could I ask for just one more. A pic looking directly at the adjusting sleeve with the full inner and outer tie rods attached.

I can't get under the car to take a photo of the center link and tie rods but here's a photo of my old tie rods set up like they would be installed on the car. Obviously the clamps on the adjusting sleeves are missing. When they are installed on the car you turn each sleeve to adjust it's wheel's toe in or toe out.

That's what I need... Those are V8 tie rods, correct? Did you thread both inner and outer in about an inch?

#19 ·
Prolly best, then, to just screen the tie rods all the way in?

Great picture Brian, thanks.

Would I be better off putting together the whole assembly and bolting it in, or is installing a piece at a time much easier?
