Loud Whirring Noise With a New Engine and Trans

So I have a 1967 mustang that I have swapped the i6 out for a 302 as well as the c4 auto for a t5 manual and I started it and its making this really weird whirring noise. I just put on an exhaust system today and before I did so, we started it and it didnt have that noise before.

Video of it running with open headers

Video of it with exhaust

I have been hearing that it might be because my start is not disengaging. I have a 157 tooth flywheel with a stupid autozone starter so could that really be the cause?

This is how the engine is suppose to sound

Hard to tell from that short video, but it almost seemed like the sound didn't change in proportion to the RPM. In fact, it sounded like it stopped momentarily under "acceleration". Seems an engaged starter would have increased in noise with the RPM....? Also, if you are running the same flywheel, bellhousing and starter as in the "supposed to sound like" video, that would seem to eliminate those sources. Have you tried taking off the front accessory belts and running it?

sounds like your starter is stuck, as the other have said bang it with a hammer, if issue persists, replace with another another one, I would also inspect the flywheel for any damage.

or if you want to upgrade, get a mini-torq starter and a heat shield wrap, I've had mine for years and never gave me an issue.
