No Knotts show for Scary this year

Well, for those that were looking forward to seeing Scary at Knotts this year, will have to wait for another year. I got the bad news today.

I haven't posted about it, because it was going to be a surprise at Knotts, but Scary is in the paint shop right now. They were suppossed to be done this week, but things have taken longer than expected, and they won't be done until sometime late next week. The car is stripped down to pretty much nothing, so even if they finish early next week, there simply won't be time to have her put back together before the show.

I went by the body shop today to take a look at the progress, and start to figure out if I'd have this weekend to put the $600+ worth of trim I just bought on her. The manager asked if I was in a hurry, but I said no. I'd rather have it done well, than done fast.

It's going to look awesome, though. The car is all in primer with a guide coat on it, but won't get the final top coat until next week, and then there's still the color sanding and buffing to be done.

The good news is that I'll be parking next to autoxsteve and 2bav8 again this year in the '66! ::

John,

Can't wait to see pictures of the new paint!
I definitely think you made the right choice by letting the body shop take their time...
Last thing you want is rushed body work.

Always enjoy parking next to autoxsteve and yourself
We got the party section going on :)

John,John, John,........we could have saved you all kinds of money and you still would have had Scary at Knotts.
You should have driven it down and we all could have brought a can of spray paint, various colors of course, and then before, during, after our nightly drinking sessions we could all have painted a bit. :joker:
Just think of how unique it would have been , there at Knotts.

You didn't have to make a public announcement just because you told me via PM. I kept my mouth shut until i heard you mention it. You sure don't mess around with getting those cars finished do you? There's guys here going on 6 years and still don't have a paint job. Its been what, 1.5-2 years working on Scary? Someday i'll venture out to Kalifornia and check her out.......someday

I figured you'd get cold feet. I heard those 69 Mustang owners aren't as neighborly... :p

I'm glad to live up to my end of that statement. It looks like My car will be there...
