I had Dan rebuild my entire power steering system and it came out better than I had imagined. Thanks Dan!

It doesn’t do Chock justice to refer to his work as a rebuild, . more accurately described as a “better than new restoration”.

the concours crowd have a term “over-restored” that’s used when a car or part is much better than when it came off the assembly line. That fits his work to a “T”.

PS. I’ve only ran across very few craftsmen that fit into that category consistently. In no particular order, Chock, OpenTracker, Dan Nolan, GoldLine Brakes (for caliper restoration), .... and the departed Jim Cowles of Shelby Parts & Restoration, RIP.

I’m sure there are many others I’ve omitted. It’s gratifying to see people taking such obvious pride in their work.

+1 for Dan Nolan. He did an awesome job on my ‘70 Mach 1, a true craftsman.

Reading this, I'm frankly overwhelmed. This was, and is a hobby we took up in our retirement. Having restored many, been around the steering, I knew nothing about it.
Once I was told no more body work, or you will die, retired from state service, I stated fumbling around with these steering parts in about 2005? Yes, set backs, but I was learning something new.
Frankly folks I really enjoy getting a Piece of crap in a box, getting in my hands, seeing if I can fix it. Really respect our Forum folks, Plan/HOPE to continue for a while yet--OF COURSE Big Time Credit goes to Carol!!!!!

Mr. Nolan is a fantastic guy who does great work for sure. Also very friendly and humble! Sent him my pump and steering box a while back and they were returned promptly, not only cleaned but also painted, and it works great. I'm regretting not sending him my control valve, as it's currently causing my system to act wonky... We'll see what comes of it. As with everybody here, nothing but good things to say about him and his wife!

I took the plunge and had him do a huge list of work on my car, ranging from installing an original part distributor and tune to new upholstery, carb, headliner, T5, minor body work, and on and on. The car is now probably show worthy and runs great! I over invested for what the car is worth I’m pretty sure, but it was worth it to me. One of the things I really appreciated was that if he found something that needed attention he went ahead and took care of it or checked with me, depending upon cost/significance. There were some things that needed attention that I wasn’t aware of, such as little things like redoing the battery cables correctly. Next time the car needs any work that is over my head, it’s going back to Mustang Barn!

In my experience, Chock's rebuilt steering box and hydraulics transformed the steering response and feel of the '69 Mach 1 into that of a newly built 1969 car. Seriously.
