Having the car dyno'd and tuned at Swanson Performance in Torrance, CA.

Let's see what you guys and gals come up with.

Here's the specs:

Keith Craft 363 Dart, 8.5:1 compression
AFR 185's
Mass Flo EFI, Ford EEC-IV computer, Vic jr. type intake
Cam: 228/236 @.050 576/570 lift 114 lobe separation.
Paxton Novi 1200, 8.5 lbs boost
Hooker Comps, 1 5/8 primaries, 3" exhaust
T5 5 speed
Ford 9"
A/C - not on during test, but in the pulley system

Dynojet Dynometer.

Here's an easter egg, 467HP at the flywheel on motor alone, no supercharger.

Your combo is very close to mine. You have a few more cubes and I have a little more boost. I will guess 560 rwhp and 530 rwtq.

It should make

horsepower

Well, yes. Some of the parts supplied with the kit gave me problems.

Mallory distributor lasted only a few years,
Mallory coil, never worked properly

I did have to spend money a few times for the tune on the dyno. Once with my boosted 331 and this time with the 363. Otherwise, it works great but i think there are more less expensive options these days with EFI

That T5 will probably grenade the first time it sees boost.

10hp per lb/min.

I made 521 with a slipping clutch with less cubes but bigger heads. Boost was around 9 psi. You should be right above that.

Results are in!

503HP
466TQ

I'm pretty happy with the numbers.

With my previous combo (the 331 ported TW heads, with the same boost, made 435RWHP)

So the 363, new cam and AFR's made 68 more RWHP)

Because I had the FWHP and RWHP numbers for the previous 331, I calculated 26% loss along the drivetrain and the accessories. 585 FW vs. 435 RW

Whoever guessed 500HP was darn close.

SWEET!! Since I have been messing with my 65 and playing on the dyno just a bit I have realized the numbers always seem to be lower than what we hope for. Don't know why that is. However, 503 RWHP is pretty darn nice!!!

Congrats on meeting your goal.

So using the previous parasitic loss (26%) having the benefit of the FW and RW numbers (from the previous combo), 503HP RWHP should transfer to approx 675 FWHP.

Nice numbers! I think you can turn up the boost a bit with the Dart block. You are getting close to the G-Force max though if you launch hard on sticky tires. My '66 coupe running a 331, also with a Novi 1200 at 8-9 lbs but on a '72 block with Canfield heads put down 483 rwhp thru an Astro A5 tranny. Time for me to mini-tub because the 225/50/16's go up in smoke at part throttle.

I think I'll stay with the current boost, but you are right, these blocks can handle quite a bit more HP and boost. I run a 295 tire NT05 which is has a big contact patch. It was pretty useless even at 435 RWHP. I haven't tried a drag radial yet but I'm strictly an autocrosser.

Pretty sure the pump is from KRC, but not 100%. They make really good pumps, have one on mine as do a lot of heavier use street/track guys.
