I’ve been considering seeing if I can get 30 for my 67 coupe on BaT. It’s flawless and nut and bolt restored.
I distinctly remember someone on this site saying a $20k coupe is impossible

How far back in time would you have to go to hear the phrase "there's no such thing as a $20,000 fastback" being tossed around and the convertible was top dog. When the top went down, the price went up. I agree with the earlier sentiment about the buyer taking a brown shower on this one, what a great phrase. 🤣

I think back to about 15-20 years ago when I bought a '65 FB off a guy that I ran into at the grocery store. Nice car... wanna sell... not really... ya take $7,500.... he followed me home- something like that. It was a '65 289 4 speed console car with a pony wheel, rally pac, and Magnums- slightly rusty, but nice. This was when EBay was just catching on for me with cars, so I listed it after a week or so- just to see what happened. A family from Wisconsin bought it, drove down on the weekend, and had their 16 yo son who it was for drive it home. 1st stick he'd ever driven, so it was ugly and beautiful at the same time! I think I got $12,000 for the car and thought I'd hit the lottery.... probably should have kept it instead of my retirement fund... lol

Looks like it was stored in a pond. Oh my!
No just the NORTHEAST!!!! Never buy a car older than 10 years from here unless you like starting your car like Fred Flintstone

someone's taking a heck of a brown shower restoring this one....
That’s funny! a figurative and literal one for whoever puts a wrench on it.

Hey, people put their money where their mouth is and they love to spend money on old mustangs. I get it

If you think this is bad, don't look at early Bronco prices!
If you think those are bad don’t look at any of the Mopar prices… :ROFLMAO:

Early Broncos have been up there for years. A guy on the next street has an OJ Bronco and he gets high offers for that one all the time. Off road legend Curt Leduc has been restoring older Broncos for a while.

I don’t think there are any bargains left on BaT, everyone’s on the auction sites now and some cars are back on the site within 12 months!

At this point, they don’t seem too selective on what they list (no offense @SuperSnake1972 !). Are folks really buying a K car off BaT?!

I bought a truck off BaT in early 2020. In retrospect, probably was a good deal vs what’s out there now.

Old school want ads, driving around like Danny on Counting Cars and possibly Craigslist (if you’re fast enough) are the few ways to get a deal.

I know it's a fastback, but are 6cyl cars really bringing that kind of money, especially in need of floors/rockers/quarters? The repaint probably looks craptastic in person. When I see strikers and latches left on, I know how much time they didn't put into it, and I'm sure it would show.
Makes me wonder what my 64 coupe is worth, as a basket case in need of everything. It's rougher than this, but not by much. I paid a helluva lot less than 20k for it. Lol.

I am glad I have no intention of ever selling my car...nor ever buying another classic Mustang after the stupid price increases of the last decade or so. Contrary to popular belief the things aren't made of gold. No wonder people look at you like you just grew a 2nd head if you entertain the idea of cutting your classic mustang for something you want to do :ROFLMAO:

Well yours is just a coupe. They will never sell for more than $20k said someone on this site :ROFLMAO:

heh, I still don't believe a coupe is worth 20k(though I am already close to having that in this car at this point and its far from done), but then I guess I shouldn't be surprised when people are paying that for them considering the average new car price is $48,000....and classic cars are so much cooler than new cars, if you are going to waste that much money on a car, might as well buy something timeless right?
