In installing a Holley Terminator X Max in my 1967. I do have a vintage air system to work around. Just curious what other may have done. Appreciate any pictures. Thanks in advance.

I have installed many aftermarket ECMs, and each is different for various reasons, from connector and harness routing, size, shape, vehicle options or features that get in the way, etc. My general options that tend to work well are velcro strips or wraps, zip ties or Adel clamps (P-clamps) on dash support bars; rare earth magnets to stick to firewall, dash or kick-panel (yours would be too big for that); and Lord mounts (rubber with a stud at each end) or short sections of heater hose for shock-mount, often in combination with the previous methods.

I've had a couple requests to mount in the glove box, back of it, or behind it for access, and gauges or digital AFR output in glove boxes or ashtrays. Also extended loops of harness to allow pulling the operating ECM into view, especially ones with LED indicators or removable data flash cards, or for test probing.

Don't forget to support your harness and wiring well for no stress on connectors. Maybe some of that gives you some ideas once you find all your options for space to put it. One size does definitely not fit all. Have fun!

I have the stealth terminator which uses that large ECU on my 69, after a bunch of where under the dash can I stick it and deal with that large connector, I just mounted it in the engine compartment on the drivers side in front of the shock tower…..sorry no pics.

The ECU on my PF-4 is mounted unseen on the lower dash rail between the ashtray and the glove box on rubber insulators. Seems happy!

Thanks For all the tips. I may have gotten ahead of myself. I’m going to layout all wires to familiarize myself first. im an old carb guy. New territory for me. My goal is to hide as mych as I can without making too hard on myself. Got to have goals lol. keep ideas coming and i will post what I end up doing. Thanks again
