Not Mine but a friends.
We went to a fun raiser cruise in for an animal shelter yesterday and while pulling in my friend with a 69 S code Mach drove over a curb with a huge mud hole on the other side and cracked his oil pan. it was just slow dripping and he didn't know what to do. So we went to a nearby AutoZone and got some brake cleaner, steel stick epoxy and a quart of oil just in case. Cleaned the area well and stuck the epoxy on there just to get him home, worked perfectly.
He is no mechanic at all so he will have to pay someone to change the pan, These questions are for him.
• Who makes the best reproduction 390 oil pan?
•what is the best pan gasket?
• Was i correct in telling him the pan should be able to be replaced without pulling the engine, remove cross member?
• Anything special he should look for while there?

Thanks
Jeff

NPD catalog time.

engine removal: no

crossmember removal: yes

might help to swing steering center link out of the way.

PS: summit gas these parts too. But NPD should be your first stop

I used the Qwik Steel epoxy putty about 10 years ago to repair an oil pan after a niece drove over a curb. It's still holding. If the pan isn't dented, sand smooth, prime and paint?
