I have very strong feelings about this myself but wonder how others feel. Which of the two years front ends (69' or 70') do you like best?
Why?

Obviously no right answer and I like 'em both a lot. Used to own a '70 Mach I and loved it. I'd be lyin if I didn't say the '69 appeals to my eye even more. I really like the sunk-in buckets that look animalesque and quad lamp look up front. I'm not sure why they felt the need to deviate from that. The rear quarter scoops that the '69 offers are another design element that makes me drool time after time. All that said, I'm with Paul, '68 speaks loudest to me. '68's are less about refined sleek and more about raw wildness which naturally appeals to me.

All 100% awesome specimens.

'69. The four headlights just scream '60s flare to me. Are they extraneous? Sure! But it was the '60s! That's why I like '67 over '68s. Sure, '70 and '68 are the cleaner cars but that lack that silly extra flare of side scoops or extra headlights.

Ok lots of responses here. I will cut off the "voting" tomorrow afternoon when I get back from the Good Guys car show in DelMar.
Then I will let you all know which is my favorite which will lead to what year, body style and sub model I think is the absolute best looking Mustang ever made.

The 1969 with 4 head lamps..
Had a 1970 with a 1969 mach 1 front end on it..Loved the look (paid 100.00 for the complete front end)
Painted hugger orange with mag whells and air shocks....It was 1975 I was 16....
Still have the 1970 mach 1 I got when I was 17
If I could find a 69 front end CHEAP it would be on it...

Don't like the front end on the '70. The scoops in the front of the fenders, the look of the grill, or the center mounted grill emblem (prefer the grill emblem mounted to the side). Personally I'd probably take a '71 before a '70 & if I did get a '70 I would probably clone it into a Boss 302.

I own both and love both... But there is one dynamic that just struck me after reading 1970ray's post...

Over my lifetime, I have seen many-many 1970 Mustangs with 1969 front-ends installed on them. But, I have never seen even one 1969 Mustang with a 1970 front-end swapped onto it.

I think that someone in Ford's styling studios took a hankering to the 1969 Shelby design, and designed the 1970 front end in a manner that "tended" towards that look. And then for 1971, they went all the way, because the 1971 nose is very-much inspired by 69-70 Shelby.

I like 69-70 Shelbys too... I wouldn't toss any of them out of the garage.
