Does anyone know a reputable company that will rebuild the original steering box that's on the car if it's freighter to them?

? do you mean sending the whole car and attempt to rebuild it w/o removing?

You will need to remove the box and ship it. You didn't say what year car you have, '65-'67 are solid shaft from steering wheel to box and are much more work to get out and a long box to ship. The '68> are 2 piece with a coupler bushing at the box and much easier to remove/ ship. Years are general statement, some late '67 had the coupler bushing/ short box.

I have one for sale that Chock rebuilt for me. I ended up putting in a rack/pinion instead.
