I think the results speak for themselves :) I am very happy. The car idles in park at 1000 and in drive at 750rpm now. We jetted the carb and picked up a few, then we strapped another carb on that was a DP and had a great run. So the carb I have now will soon be sold and I will be rebuilding and running the 850 DP all the time.

I got 10 miles to the gallon going.
I got 15 miles to the gallon coming....and I was driving a lot faster too ;)

I am extremely pleased with the overall outcome and performance of the car. I have some video that I will be posting as soon as I can so you can all re-live the moment with me.

90 miles.

IF i can find a 1/4 or a 1/2 spacer I think I will be in like flint....once I swap to the 850 since it doesn't have a choke tower I can go from the 2.25 filter to the 2 inch filter

Sorry...must have missed it...I scanned quickly :)

The torque is a little weird seemed to throw everyone for a little loop. Most times on a N/A car it has been my expereince to find the ft/lbs higher than the HP. The old motor build dyno had VERY similar torque numbers but 100 less HP. It is still a ton of power for a street car though, just odd. I'm sure Art can tell me why its like that. ::

Good numbers dodge, sounds like you need to get upgrade your fuel system and you'll be set. I guessed 398 HP .. 2nd place, not you. I was way off on the TQ though, what was I thinking that 400+ cubic inches was going to make over 400 ft lbs of torque.

nobody...some of the HP were close....but they all came in high on the torque....as did I.

Exchevman was the closest on HP with a guess of 390....I was 2nd with a guess of 405

CLoney and Art tied on Torque at 360....but cloney guess lower RPMS so I have to call him on that one.

Hukares made the most correct comment that he thought it would pull past 6k....which it did..had flat HP up to 7k when we shut down

I went up to Lorocca's performance in English Town.
As for 400 I am very happy now, but once I get this 850 set up, I am sure we will get there....we literally just pulled a carb he has from somewhere else and strapped it on...we made no mods to the carb to tweak if for the specific motor...so I feel confident the next time I am there (probly in the fall) it will be 3 pulls and out with sheets over 400.

Looks like all that hard work, pain and suffering paid off. Very Nice!!

Nice Numbers Good to see some nice torque down low, Must be the extra cubic inches.
I cannot wait to get mine on the rolls. I have a similar setup with a little less duration, more lift, higher comp. due to the 4V closed chambers. And it not stroked. The main reason to get it on the dyno for me is that bit of fine tuning to get the most out of the Speed demon 750 DP.

Nice, Nick, real nice. I think from the looks of that little upswing at 7k that you might have left a little on the table !
Might have broken the 400 mark around 72 or 73... I sure can't second guess you about stopping at 7 though - I know what breaking parts sound like too- ::

Good job Nick. I think I may have to throw an 850 on FBD's 429. I am thinking that will help a lot too. but we will see.

picked it up and then gave it back Bill....I need to get my 850 rebuilt, we used one the dyno guy sitting in the trunk of a car in the garage. Drove it back home with the 770 on it.

With the 770 after all the tuning it maxed out at just under 330 hp and just over 300 ft lbs.....there was a noticable inprovment in the car with just the changes made to the timing, air fuel and jets....but once I get the 850 polished up and running right it will be a much larger change :)

Because I have an AOD and a 9 inch rear, I estimate 20% power loss. I may be high but its so hard to know for sure...I think it has 500 or so flywheel.
