Anyone know how much higher the car will sit with 235/60/15 tyres on the fronts as opposed to 225/50/15 ?

Thanks

Tire size is x/y/z
X= width in millimeters
Y= is aspect ratio of sidewall to tire width in percentage (ie. 225 mm multiplied by .5, then times the number by two since there are two sidewalls in determining height)
Z = rim diameter in inches.

Be sure to use same units (converting mm to inches).
25.4 mm equals one inch.

I suggest going to the tirerack site or some other tire seller site. Look up the diam of the two tires. Subtract the radius of the 225/50/15 from the radius of the 235/60/15.

This won't be exact because it depends on the rim width, tire pressure etc. but it should be close.

I forgot to mention that while that formula is universal, different tire companies have tolerances so two identical tire sizes can actually have different heights. All wheel drive GM vehicles require all four tires to be of the same brand and model tire with similar wear otherwise the transfer case can be damaged. We had a vehicle that had a failed transfer case at 20k miles and GM technical assistance had us check the tire rollout since the car had tired replaced with mismatched brand tires. There can be quite a difference. We measured close to 3/4 inch between different company's. Some tire manufactures will give actual physical dimensions along with tire size in x/y/z formula, tread wear, temperature rating, etc

The fronts need replacing as they are worn, at the moment it has BF Goodrich

225/50/15 fronts
265/50/15 Rears

But it's difficult to find the 225/50/15 BF Goodrich over here

Would 235/60/15 fit ok on the fronts ?

I can get 225/60/15 or 235/60/15 for the fronts but I don't want it to sit higher at the front, any thoughts ? Pics below, thanks

Click on the calculator link I provided earlier. Scroll down a little and you can compare two different tire sizes.

Your rear tires are 25.4" tall.

225/60/15 is 25.6" tall and the 235/60/15 is 26.1" tall. They are taller than your rear tires, I don't think you would like how they look.

You don't need a calculator. Get the specs for the tires you're considering. The tire dealer may not have them. Go on line. One of the listings is diameter. Half diam is the radius, the height from the wheel center. Compare different tires. The tires are partly flattened by weight. Figure the flattening is about the same.
