Does anyone have a recommendation on an X pipe that will fit Small block FPA headers?, The headers came with 2.5" reducers.

Are you trying to connect it direct to the headers? Mine is installed right at the end of the trans Tailhousing. It is a magnaflow unit from Summit.
The FPA headers come with reducers that can be welded to the X or H pipe. I'll have to check out Dr Gas

I love the sound at RPM with my Dr. Gas unit, and it has mellowed the sound at cruise and idle of my larger flat tappet 347. I have FPA headers > Dr Gas > 2.5" magnaflows on the car currently to turn down/outs at the axle, but at some point will make the painstaking effort to bring the mandrel bent 2.5" pipes up over the axle and through the panhard bar. Still sounds pretty mean when on the right pedal though, which is perfect for what I wanted.

I went with JBA headers and Spintech side exit exhaust mufflers. I installed the headers, drove the car up to a local, competent, exhaust shop and had them fabricate up the exhaust for me. I brought them the mufflers I wanted to use, told them what I wanted them to do and they made an X pipe for me with my particular application. A lot of guys that can't weld or do their own exhaust generally want to buy a kit and try doing it themselves. This is an area where I generally take it somewhere to have it done and generally recommend others to do so as well as I've heard of a lot of issues with the pre-fabricated kits that you buy. Plus it seems like every car is slightly different.

I used a Summit universal 2 1/2" X-pipe with my FPA headers. My exhaust guy made it fit....
Having had both H and X crossovers, the X's main advantage is it is quieter inside the car.

What X pipe did you wind up with? I just ordered my FPAs last night and will be looking for an X pipe soon too.

Thanks!
Haven't done it yet, have some other pressing issues to deal with. But will probably use the Pypes X pipe that Summit sells.

Fitting a Pypes stainless 2.5" exhaust to Vic's 70 convertible. He is running Headman shortie headers. It requires "just a little" fitting. The kit looks like it would fit a coupe / fastback quite nicely. Convertibles are another story.
