So was going through my "new" Mustang and I found a couple of interesting things...

1, California Black plate lodged into the rear quarter panel just behind the wheel. unfortunately just one plate.. would have been great to find both!

2, Pliers rusted beyond recognition just below the glove box, resting on the little ledge where the glovebox door hinge is located. the pliers were so rusted that they essentially disintegrated.

:pirate:

Little hidden treasures.. kind of fun.. what kinds of things have you found in your steeds?

I've had my coupe completely apart for about two months now. While working on the cowl hat area a few weeks ago, I was under the dash and found two maintenance receipts for brake repairs dated in the early 70's stuffed up under the dash. I think it was $7 for shoe replacement on two wheels and $12 for a cylinder replacement.

When I took it apart our 68 coupe in the early 1980s (our family is the only owner) I found in the hard to reach area below one of the quarter windows what appeared to be the fossilized remnants of an assembly workers lunch in a small disintegrating paper bag including some wax paper and what appeared to be a half eaten candy bar with its wrapper. Completely fossilized and dessicated. So alot of what you heard about assembly line workers back then were true.

Finds

It wasn't in a mustang, but a late model T-Bird I was pulling the motor from to use in a mustang. Under the rear seat was a diamond ring! Helped pay for some of the parts!

Not in my Mustang, but a 1950 Chevy pickup I was restoring... found the same. Could not figure out how the mouse/mice even got up there as the headliner it self was in decent condition. Found the nest under the seat (these trucks had a base pan for storage under the cushion) that was FULL including multiple mummy mice.

I've owned my Mustang for over 40 years now. Working on it to correct the mistakes of my youth is like conducting an archeological dig. Let's just say I found some evidence of youthful exuberence in the heater box and under the dashboard recently.

When I bought my 65 in 1980, I pulled the seats to clean and vacuum the carpet because it smelled like a wet dog. Found 17 marijuana roaches under the two seats. Guess it was a party car at one time! :)

Haha, funny you say that, when I took the front bench seat out of my 66' I found 4 of em, a half empty pack of lucky strikes and a receipt from a gas station from 1968 ! Someone has had some good times in my car long before me!

A buddy of mine in Florida bought an old pickup when he lived in NYC that had a bed full of old crap. It was stored at a petrol station for quite some time in New York. When he cleared out the bed he found a Stash of money. Over a thousand dollars. He figured there was an angry drug dealer who lost his hidden money.

I only ever find welding slag and pins from pop rivets.

I found a photo ID of one of the POs that I would like to return and maybe ask her some questions about the car. She lives in my city but considering she would be over 90 years old, I'm kinda concerned if she is even still alive.

I have had a bunch of Mustangs, and these were found in multiple, so your results may be different:

9 mm pistol behind the quarter panel interior panel
12 gauge shotgun under rear seat
A whole bunch of Neiman-Marcus tagged perfumes still in the original unopened boxes hidden in the heater box
Enough dope to keep California happy for a month
2 $100 bills, tightly rolled into coke straws, on the little ledge below the glove box door hinge.
Bunch of nude pictures of the guy's wife I bought a car from.
A cluster of about 30 1 peso coins welded together to close up a rust hole in the floorboard.
I think the strangest one though was buying a Mustang where, during the test drive, there was a ton of money laying visibly in the console. When I picked it up, the money was still sitting there, and went with the car. Most people would at least pick up cash sitting out????

Old postcard from Cobra Restores, has to be over 25 years old.
