What bothers you, I want to know.

If a gauge does not work, does that bother you?
If your window does not roll up all the way, does that bother you?
If your "X" does is not right, does it bother you?

There are lots of things that currently don't work in my car. The reason I am fine with some of them not working is because I can get around not having some of those things. Things like the A/C I can get around because I have fresh air vents. The courtesy light and cigarette lighter don't work, but I get around that by either having my phone charged or carrying around a charger with me. My trunk light doesn't work either, but I have a flashlight.

So I feel exactly the same in regards to the heater controls. Not important in my view, I recently fixed the cig lighter because it was easy to look up the wire and connect it. But overall I think that most people feel like you.

I recently replaced my driver side window regulator, it would go down if you applied downward pressure, since I never leave it parked anywhere I never saw it as an important thing. Now that the regulator is fixed I feel better.

Yes it bothered me that it did not work correctly.

The heater in my car does not work, since I don't drive my car in the winter it makes no difference to me. But I generally dislike anything that does not work, I guess that is why almost everything with few exceptions work.

I like the way people in this forum try to help other, together we solve problems.

It depends on what the thing that doesn't work is. My clock has never worked. Who cares. My front discs had an issue, that bothered me and almost got me into a panic stop accident.
Speaking of that I just discovered my dash lights are not working. Don't drive it at night so didn't realize that. Not a big deal as but that bothers me as I might want to drive it at night.

My under dash lights "65" have never worked and I ditched the high beam switch because it made my and others left foot very uncomfortable while waiting to make an autocross run so that has been removed and doesn't work. The original heater motor, the only thing that goes round in circles from the original car, squeals like a pig when turned on, annoys me. Otherwise, everything works great!!

I hate stuff that doesn't work or doesn't work correctly. It also bothers me when people make no attempt to
fix stuff "wrong" that would actually take 5 minutes / $5 to fix.

@Mike the old grump took my answer.

But to answer the question, it depends on the vehicle. My daily driven old trucks, everything works down to the cigarette lighter. (ok, the '92 has A/C that probably hasn't worked since '95 because R12, but the '96 A/C works because R134) My '66 I think everything works. The old '54 210 I had, it ran. The lights worked, the windows worked. The brakes worked. That's about it.

Nice.

Thanks for the reply.

I can't stand a leak so I jump on those really quickly.
My Rally Pac clock points stick in spite of it being serviced by a specialist some years ago, but I can un-stick em and they work a while. Haven't been willing to give up the original tick-tick-tick and clack of the rewind for the silent modern sweep of quartz. It gives it character.
Everything works on the Mustang.

@myfirstcar66 I should send you my wife's '66. I don't think there is a fluid in it anywhere that it holds correctly. 😖

Wait, brake fluid might be the only one. Haven't touched anything else yet. Dreading the power steering and automatic transmission. Only one out of the three Mustangs that has those. And the rear pinion on my dad's '65 decided to mark the new garage floor. Yuck.

Well the gas gauge on my Dakota Digital gauges won't talk to the intank Holley efi pump . Figured out a work around ,I just fill up every time I go out .
Windshield wipers did'nt work the last time I was comeing home from a car show in the rain . Figured out a work around ,don't drive her when it might rain .
New radio shorted out a few years back . you guessed it figured out a work around, left it out that way the only thing loud I hear is the exhaust .

So no, as long as she gets me there & back fast as I may or may not want to go all the little things don't mean squat to me . I'll get to them one day , If not they can be somebody else's problem .

Heck guys she looks fine even with all the it don't work stuff. And if I had not mentioned them the only one anybody would know about is the radio .

The point is you are OK with what you have, to be honest that works for me.

Just to be clear, I want to get to know how people feel about stuff. The responses have been all over the place and that's OK.
