16+ years, 17k+ post.

Effective immediately I am with-drawing all support for VMF properties own/managed by Auto Guide.

I've had enough.

See you all on facebook and else where on the web.

Saw your FB post - sorry to hear - will look forward to your wisdom elsewhere and thanks for your input here - it will be missed

Yep feeling out of the loop, but not shocked the owner isn't here for the people of the forum, only for advertising dollars (just my guess).

What did I miss?

Hope your not gone for good you have a wealth of knowledge to share maybe just tune in from time to time as one of us regular people. Another Mustang site I'm on has had some forum leaders step away also and the forum has suffered ....Hope that doesn't happen here. face book isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread either they pissed me off and I'm boycotting them ,have not been on in about a year.

While it is possible that the admins won't like me posting this, here:

Just read it on Facebook as well... the ads here have gotten out of hand. Sometimes I can't even open a thread due to being redirected to non playing videos... and I hate Tapatalk.. Facebook is a quick answer, quick posting alternative to the site. I might actualll unfriend the few ppl I have on fb so I can just have the app go to Vmf stuff..

Thanks Kelly, and this is really too bad. I know Internet sites can't lose money, but most of us seem to be in this for the helpfulness to each other along with the love of our cars. This seems to be an example of missing the forest for the trees by the owners at the expense of its members.

Very bizarre. Just read what Kelly posted, and just don't understand it. I don't want to go to Facebook to get my Mustang fix - I spend more time on this site than I do on Facebook. I get tired of the stupid videos, the political crap, pictures of dogs, cats, lunch, dinner, etc on Facebook - it has become quite ridiculous. Hope VMF doesn't go the way of the dodo bird.

As I read this on my iPad I am having to keep rotating it to get rid of the annoying "Entertainment Buzz Ronaldo bust" pop up in the upper left corner of my screen. Sometimes it's more frustration than it's worth. I don't see these issues on other sites I frequent. It's a shame....

Apparently in Dodgestang's case it's also their heavy handed protection of ad revenue.

My thoughts EXACTLY! Yea I know the App Store has Adblock for $2.. pretty cheap. But Vmf is also the ONLY site this happens on.. I'll buy two $.69 songs instead thanks. ;)

I'm running Firefox on W10, I haven't had any issues. Even on my personal cell and work cell. Very rarely. Most of the time when it does happen it's been because I accidentally clicked on a link.

I recently joined FB and I'm already sick of it. My friend and his wife are just so political it's either their way or the highway. It's constant and it's about 75% of their posts.

Firefox+adblock...no ads. Refuse to use FB.
Sorry you're leaving us DodgeStang.

So Autoguide makes money based on ad revenue. Ad revenue is based on traffic numbers. Most people use an ad blocker now. Therefore, the advertisers aren't actually getting the traffic they're paying for. Therefore, wouldn't it be in Autoguide's best interest to keep the ruse up by not pissing off a regular poster which helps keep traffic numbers high?

Facebook sucks. There is not a single redeeming quality to it, I will not join. There are plenty of other Mustang sites. Autoguide would do well to realize that.

I enjoy being in this wonderful place, were I have done very good friends and were I have learned a lot of things about Mustangs.
The thing is that I don't see any ads here and I'm not using any ad blocker at all that I recall.
I'm using mainly iPads for my connections, either Air or Pro, and I don't see any ads.
It's a real shame we have to loose the knowledge of people that have so many things to share with us for a matter like this.
No FB here and I am not goin' through it.

I'm fortunate enough to be doing this while at work- the IT Gestapo blocks everything, so I don't have any issues at all- no ads whatsoever! It does unfortunately mean that some pictures won't load, but that's when I switch to my smartyphone instead.
BTW- ever had the feeling of Dejavu? ....... Know what I mean Woodchuck??
